Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her teenage daughter, Astrid, accidentally opens the portal to the afterlife. Tim Burton has said that the film would only be made if Michael Keaton returned to reprise his role.

Keaton stated in March 2014 that it was the only sequel he wanted to make. Lydia informs Astrid that Rory wants to get married at midnight on Halloween night. That would make November 1st, because midnight marks the beginning of a new day, and therefore it would no longer be Halloween.

🤔 The sequel just didn’t capture the magic of the original
Beetlejuice, specifically Beetlejuice, and maybe Bob, were the only decent things in this sequel. The original Beetlejuice is legendary, and I’m going to pretend this one doesn’t exist because, seriously, come on. It lacked the charm, wit, and unique style that made the first film a classic.
Fans of the original will likely be disappointed
It felt like it was an attempt to make money rather than a genuine attempt to continue the story. It’s a shame because there was so much potential. Hopefully future projects will do better justice to Beetlejuice’s legacy.
